new approach

A new kind of architecture on the tri tower hotel.

Underwater Tunnel

To provide a service corridor and a tourist path, the tunnel that houses the infrastructure can double as paths... one for FOH the other for BOH.  The top can be acrylic for underwater explorations.  When researching the material, I found another concept hotel on the water. The Maya Hotel in Mexico is supposed to open in 2010.

New layout with updated platforms

platform performance

The main criticism during midterm review was that the previous platforms were too flat and basically meant that the architecture on them was just -street- architecture, therefore, the buildings had no relationship to the water.

So the first step was to develop a new platform that allow opportunities for water interaction, and an improved connection.

So here, the infrastructure runs inside the metal on top, which is barely below the surface.  If a building is to be built on top, it can rest most of its weight on the metal pieces, taking its water, electricity, sewage, communication and all other utilities from this platform.
